Weather proves kind to stargazers; leaves skies clear for lunar eclipse

It was a night for stargazers, romantics and anybody who loves a spectacle. None was disappointed as a full moon slipped into the shadows of the earth taking on a copperish hue at first, then reducing to a thin sliver of silver and finally disappearing into darkness at full eclipse, Saturday night.
The celestial show was far more thrilling than any television show could provide for most. While the UK skies offered the best view, weather permitting, people in Africa, Canada, eastern parts of the US, South America and some parts of Asia also enjoyed what most have described as a “stunning sight”.
