UK secures third place for spyware

Hurrah! Only Thailand and the US outdo us

ACCORDING to research conducted by Webroot Software, the UK suffered the third highest rate of spyware infections in the world during Q3 of this year.

Webroot says there’s as many as 18 spies on an average machine. Only Thailand and the US had higher rates of infection. In addition, the anti-spyware software vendor found that spyware is costing the UK as much as £445 million in lost time, productivity and in computer repairs.
