LogicaCMG sees gradual IT pick-up continuing

Anglo-Dutch computer services company LogicaCMG posted 2005 pretax profit just under the average market forecast on Wednesday, but said it expected the IT sector's gradual improvement to continue.

Pretax profit rose to 105.6 million pounds in the year to end-December from 63.7 million the year before, on revenues up 10.6 percent at 1.83 billion pounds, in line with expectations.

The profit figure had been seen at 107.2 million pounds, billion, according to a Reuters poll of 21 analysts, and the stock fell 2 percent in morning trade.

The shares had risen around 25 percent since LogicaCMG agreed to buy France's Unilog for 930.3 million euros (632 million pounds) in September.
