Warner Bros backs two DVD formats

Film studio Warner Brothers has decided to release DVDs in both the Sony-backed Blu-ray and the Toshiba-backed HD DVD formats.

The Harry Potter film maker's move came after the industry's failure to launch a unified next generation DVD format.

Rival Paramount Home Entertainment recently said it too would back both technologies, while other Hollywood film studios have chosen just one.
