Lynx bones discovered in caves in the Yorkshire Dales look set to rewrite the history of hunting cats in Britain.
Two sets of bones, discovered in the late 19th century and early 20th century, were thought to have dated from about 4,000 years ago, but carbon dating has proved they are 1,500 years old, from the late Roman and early medieval period.
