MediaLab to distribute low-cost laptops to children

View at Sify.com
India, which fancies itself as a software hotspot, is conspicuous by its absence among the developing countries that have plans to distribute low-cost laptops to children.

These laptops are being developed by a non-profit group called `One Laptop per Child,' formed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab.

I predict many more stories like this one in the coming weeks, with a myriad of case studies as the actual product is released.

Is this now the way education will go world wide?

If it is, then Microsoft have a big problem because once children learn to use Linux, industry will follow!
